How to re-establish borrower sync with the KensieMae plugin

Modified on Mon, Apr 14 at 7:30 PM

Learn how to resolve borrower sync errors between Blend and Encompass with the KensieMae plugin.

Why does borrower sync break?

Borrower sync breaks when there is a mismatch of borrower information between Blend and Encompass. A break in the sync will impact the following functionality:

  • Borrower data and eConsent sync
  • Issuing disclosures
  • Loan status sync
  • Importing documents

Making too many changes to the following parameters will break the sync:

  • First name
  • Middle Initial
  • Last name
  • Email address
  • Date of birth (DOB)
  • Social Security number (SSN)
  • Borrower positions

When a borrower sync break occurs, the KensieMae logs will record the following error:

Error: Authentication required

If you get an "Authentication required" error, follow the steps below to re-establish the sync.

Verify borrower information in Blend and Encompass

Encompass

  1. Open the loan in Encompass.
  2. Go to the Borrower Summary - Origination form.
  3. Verify the borrower(s) first name, middle initial, last name, email address, DOB, SSN, and borrower position.

Blend

  1. Open the loan in Blend.
  2. Go to Borrower information.
  3. Verify the borrower(s) first name, middle initial, last name, email address, DOB, SSN, and borrower position.

If there is any mismatched information, please make the corrections in Encompass, save the loan and proceed to repair the integration.

Repair the integration

The borrower(s) information must match to repair the sync. Once the information between Blend and Encompass has been verified:

  1. In Encompass, click the B button.
  2. Click Repair Integration.
  3. Save the loan.

If Repair Integration does not work, try to Reset Hash.

Verify that the sync has been re-established

At this point, the sync should be restored and you can review the KensieMae logs to confirm that the Authentication required error has cleared.
