Completing a hybrid closing - Borrower experience

Modified on Thu, Apr 10 at 4:36 AM

Hybrid closings allow borrowers to review and eSign non-notarized docs ahead of the closing appointment.

Reviewing closing documents

After the closing documents are sent to Blend, the borrower will get an email notification letting them know their closing documents are ready for review.

All closing documents sent to Blend will be available for the borrower to review regardless of how they’ll be signed (electronically signed or wet signed) or the type of closing selected.

The borrower will click Start Reviewing and go through each document using the navigation buttons. A green check mark will indicate that the document has been reviewed.

When done reviewing the documents, the borrower will click Finish, and the task will be removed from the list.
For Traditional closings, borrowers will complete the rest of the process (including signing) in person with their notary.

eSigning non-notarized documents with hybrid closing

Borrowers will get an email notification when closing documents are ready to be e-signed.

When the borrower logs in to the portal, they’ll have a new task with the documents requiring an e-signature.

The borrower will click Start Signing and go through the navigation buttons to apply their electronic signatures.

Documents that are reviewed and signed will be available in the documents tab.

In this hybrid example, they would share closing preferences in Borrower Portal and finish signing the remaining documents with a notary.
