Encompass Lower Environment Migration
ICE is in the process of migrating customers’ Encompass lower environments over a period of time. If you are scheduled for migration, please be aware of the following important steps to ensure continued connectivity with Blend:
What You Need to Do:
Notify Blend Support at least 10 days in advance of your scheduled migration. This lead time is necessary for Blend to prepare and reestablish connectivity between your Encompass Beta and Blend Beta environments.
If you have received a migration notification from ICE and do not intend to delay the migration, please notify Blend Support immediately to ensure your systems remain connected.

(New) Identity Database Reboot (Beta Only) & Upgrade
Blend is rebooting our identity database to apply new cluster parameters. The reboot will take a few minutes impacting beta only. Additionally, we are upgrading our identity database from version 13 to 15.10 impacting both beta and prod.
Will there be downtime associated with this maintenance?
Reboot (beta only): During the maintenance window, users may experience short periods of downtime affecting logins in both the borrower app and the lender app. Previous database reboots have taken a few minutes.
Upgrade: There will be no anticipated downtime during the maintenance window.

Blend is upgrading our activities database from version 13 to 15.10.

There will be no impacts to the borrower app.

(New) Connectivity & Income Service Database Upgrade
Blend will perform maintenance upgrades to the Connectivity and Income service databases, moving both from AWS Aurora PostgreSQL 13 to 15, which allows us to take advantage of PostgreSQL 15 performance and reliability improvements. The maintenance window is expected to last approximately 10-30 minutes.
Will there be downtime associated with this maintenance?
Yes. During the maintenance window, users may experience short periods of downtime affecting features and services in both the borrower app and the lender app.
What services or products are affected?
Connectivity service – assets connectivity (account linking/asset verification), credit connectivity (credit pulls/reports), and any public APIs that rely on Connectivity for assets or credit.
Income service – income and employment verification (VOI/VOE) and manual income workflows that pass through Income.
How will this impact the borrower app?
During the maintenance window, the borrower app will stay up, but borrowers won’t be able to complete asset account connections, credit pulls, or income/employment verification (VOI/VOE). These steps may error or time out and will need to be retried after the window.
How will this impact the lender app?
The lender app will stay up, but asset workflows, credit report ordering/refresh, VOI/VOE, income workflows, and related public APIs may temporarily fail or time out during the window. Lender users can retry these actions once maintenance is complete.

(New) Home Insurance Database Upgrade
Blend is upgrading our home insurance database from version 13 to 15.10.

Home insurance follow-ups could potentially be impacted. These follow-ups are mainly automated, triggered by specific events defined at the tenant-level.

After TRID
After Disclosures
Though they can also be added manually via the lender UI or the public API. In the case where the home insurance follow-up fails, the service will be retried.

Only home insurance follow-ups could potentially be impacted.

EKS AMI Upgrade
We will be upgrading the Amazon Machine Image (AMI) used by our EKS clusters. This upgrade requires restarting workloads across the clusters, which may cause brief service interruptions across all Blend services. The maintenance window is expected to last approximately two hours.

Yes. During the maintenance window, users may experience short periods of downtime affecting features and services in both the borrower app and the lender app. All services may be intermittently impacted as workloads are restarted.
What services or products are affected?
All Blend services will be affected and may experience short, intermittent interruptions during the maintenance window.
How will this impact the borrower app?
Borrowers may experience brief periods where features in the borrower app are unavailable or slow to respond while workloads are restarted.
How will this impact the lender app?
Lenders may experience brief periods where features in the lender app are unavailable or slow to respond while workloads are restarted.
