Allow Reminder Emails for Automated Follow-Ups

Which customers are impacted?: Any customer who uses Blend’s automated follow-ups in the Lending platform may opt in to this feature. 

Required?: No, opt-in.

How to turn on: This will not be automatically enabled for our customers. If you’d like to take advantage of this functionality, please email support@blend.com.

Purpose of Update and Benefit:
Automated follow-ups are created by Blend automatically if certain conditions are met for a submitted loan, or if a lender has included follow-ups in their application template. For example, if the borrower manually adds income and employment in the loan, Blend can automatically add follow-up tasks to the loan that request W2 and Paystubs. By default, reminder emails are not sent to borrowers when automated follow-ups are added to loans. With this update, reminder emails will be triggered by the presence of outstanding automated follow-ups. 

Current Behavior:
Reminder emails are not sent for automated follow-ups.

New Behavior:
Reminder emails will be sent for outstanding follow-ups, even if they are automated follow-ups. The cadence that automated follow-up reminders are sent will mirror the behavior that is configured for email reminders
