Which customers are impacted? Any customer using the Tax Transcript Follow-Up in Blend on the Lending platform.
How to turn on: This feature will be automatically enabled for all customers on the dates listed above.
Purpose of Update and Benefit:
We are changing the Tax Transcript Follow-Up to prevent borrowers from changing their current name using those fields. Additionally, we're adding additional verbiage and controls to make it more apparent to borrowers when they should use the previous name/address fields. These changes will help avoid discrepancies when signing documents in Blend.
Current Behavior:
Currently, the Tax Transcript workflow allows the borrower to enter current and previous First/Middle/Last Names when they come to complete the task. If the borrower enters a different name into the current field than what they’ve added to their application previously, they could end up with names on the tax form that do not match the electronic signature.
New Behavior:
The Tax Transcripts workflow will now show the borrower's current name and address in an uneditable table. The text at the top of the workflow has been updated to indicate that the information they are reviewing is what's included on their current tax return.
At the bottom of the workflow, there is now a question asking borrowers if the information provided matches their previous tax return, with a Yes/No toggle. This toggle defaults to “Yes.”
If left on "Yes," the borrower does not need to fill out any additional information. If switched to "No," the workflow will expose fields that will allow the borrower to enter a previous First/Middle/Last Name and previous address for previous tax returns.
