Which customers are impacted?: Lender customers who use Blend to process FHA loan applications.
How to turn on: This feature will be automatically enabled for all customers on the dates listed above.
Purpose of Update and Benefit:
In some cases, loan teams that attempt to run AUS on FHA loans where the FHA program (aka Section of the Act) is not identified will receive an error saying that the Section of the Act is missing. To help lenders who process FHA loans in Blend, the platform will now run a validation that checks that an FHA program is selected before the loan team can save the application. If loan teams attempt to save the application without selecting an FHA program, they will be unable to proceed with saving the application until the program is selected.
Current Behavior:
When the mortgage type = FHA, selecting an FHA program from the dropdown menu is not required. Loan teams are able to save the application regardless of whether an FHA program is selected.
New Behavior:
When the mortgage type = FHA, the lender application will require the loan team to select an option from the FHA program dropdown menu. Loan teams will not be able to save the application without making a selection.
