Date Available: Available Now, opt-in.
Which customers are impacted? Any customer that uses Blend to structure liabilities for
mortgage loans in the lender application.
How to turn on: This will not be automatically enabled for our customers. It will be available beginning on the dates listed above. If you’d like to take advantage of this functionality, please contact Blend Support.
Purpose of Update and Benefit:
With this release, lenders can choose to remove the automatic calculations that link the monthly payment, months left, and unpaid balance fields for each liability added to
the Monthly Debt page. This will allow loan teams to have better control over what is being entered into the Monthly Debt page.
Current Behavior:
Currently, the values monthly payment, months left, and unpaid balance in the Liabilities section of the Monthly Debt page are automatically calculated by multiplying monthly
payment by months left to derive the unpaid balance. Changing the value for any of these three fields will cause the others to recalculate.
New Behavior:
If enabled, customers can input any value into each of the three fields for each liability. No automatic calculation will be done, so loan teams will need to do the calculation outside of Blend and enter the proper amounts into the fields. Any values that are manually entered or edited will be reflected in the MISMO.
