Which customers are impacted?: This feature is available to any customer who meets the following criteria:
*The KM plugin 24.8.0.4 and higher passes the info required to add Requestor contact info to the footer when creating a disclosure package. Customers using any other DocGen service will need to make some changes to the calls made to Blend’s API before they can take advantage of this new feature.
Required?: No, opt-in.
How to turn on: This will not be automatically enabled for our customers. It will be available beginning on the dates listed above. If you’d like to take advantage of this functionality, please email support@blend.com.
Purpose of Update and Benefit:
This feature improves a previous one that enabled adding the loan officer’s name and contact information to all customer-facing emails that are sent from Blend. For customers who enabled that feature, someone on the loan team could request disclosures for a loan without the loan officer’s knowledge, and the email that is sent to the borrower would appear to have come from the loan officer since their name and contact information was being added to the footer of the email by default. This update aims to clear up that confusion by using the name + contact information of the person who requested the disclosure. By displaying the correct sender in the email, borrowers will know who on the loan team is requesting this disclosure, and will be able to reach out to the appropriate point of contact for disclosure-related inquiries.
Current Behavior:
Currently, the contact information included in disclosures emails could only reflect the primary contact / loan officer assigned to the loan.
New Behavior:
If this feature is enabled and the initiatedByLenderId property is included in a disclosure package request, the email sender and signature information will reflect the user who requested the disclosure.
