We understand there are situations where borrowers fill out separate applications when the intention was to fill out a shared application.
Although the merging of applications is not a supported feature in Blend, here are a few paths to consider to help you and your borrowers move forward with the application process.
If the application status is in the beginning stages.
- Consider archiving the application(s).
- Create and invite the borrowers to a new shared application.
If the co-borrower began a new application instead of responding to the primary borrower’s invitation.
- Advise the intended co-borrower to accept the invitation from the primary borrower and complete the application.
- Archive the application that was filled out unintentionally.
If the co-borrower does not wish to fill out a new application.
- Take over the application in progress and manually enter the co-borrower information on the loan you'd like to move forward with.
- Archive the application that was filled out unintentionally.
If both borrowers completed separate applications.
- Export both applications as is and follow internal procedures on merging applications after export.
If borrowers prefer to be together from the start.
- Create and invite the borrowers to a new application and proceed with the newest invitation links.
- Archive both applications that were unintentionally completed.
