Date Available: Beta 10/9, Prod 10/9
Which customers are impacted?: Lenders using Factual Data with IEV who opt-in.
Required?: No, opt-in.
How to turn on: This will not be automatically enabled for our customers. It will be available beginning on the dates listed above. If you’d like to take advantage of this functionality, please email support@blend.com.
Purpose of Update and Benefit: Factual Data's Innovis Early View (IEV) pulls the Innovis bureau first. If it finds a deal-breaker, such as a recent derogatory item, it stops before a full tri-merge and returns liabilities without a credit score. Blend now accepts and saves these scoreless IEV reports instead of rejecting them, and lets the loan officer upgrade them to a full tri-merge when needed. Lenders using IEV can see the borrower's liabilities and keep working on the loan without hitting an error. Borrowers also avoid unnecessary re-pulls.
Current Behavior: When Factual Data returns an IEV report with liabilities but no credit score, Blend treats it as invalid. The loan officer sees "Invalid credit score returned by credit provider" or "Unable to match input to a credit report." The liabilities are discarded and no credit data is saved to the loan.
New Behavior: When the feature is enabled and Factual Data returns a scoreless IEV report:
The credit pull completes successfully, with no error.
Innovis liabilities and tradelines are saved and shown in the credit report.
The scores area shows "No match returned," and the Credit Decision score shows "--".
The credit report PDF is stored and can be downloaded.
The activity log shows the pull as successful.
Auto-pull treats the IEV report as the final result and does not re-pull it.
AUS submission from Blend is blocked for the IEV report. The LO sees: "Cannot submit to AUS: the active credit report is an Innovis Early View (IEV) report without credit scores. Upgrade to a full tri-merge credit report before submitting to an automated underwriting system."
No adverse action notice is generated from the IEV report.
The LO can upgrade the IEV report to a full tri-merge. Blend sends Factual Data's upgrade request, and the full report with scores replaces the IEV report as the active report.
These flows are unchanged:
Full tri-merge and Quadmerge pulls, including when Factual Data's workflow continues past Innovis to a full report on its own
SSN-mismatch errors
All other credit providers
