Date Available: Beta Available Now, Prod 11/10
Which customers are impacted?: Any lender planning to upgrade to Blend API v13.
Required?: No, opt-in.
How to turn on: API v13 is currently available in beta for testing. On 11/10/2026, v13 will be promoted to stable status and made available for production use.
Purpose of Update and Benefit: This release introduces enhancements to the Follow-Ups, Close, and Home Lending APIs to support richer rejection context, expanded closing type controls, and Truv GSE reference management. These updates give integrations greater visibility into follow-up rejection reasons, more granular control over closing type ceilings and eNote eligibility, and a new endpoint for lender-supplied Truv GSE reference IDs scoped to the direct Truv integration. All changes are non-breaking and optional.
Follow-Ups API Updates:
For REJECTED follow-ups that went through the re-request flow, the response now includes two optional fields describing why the document was rejected: reRequestReason (the structured reason the reviewer selected, e.g. Low quality, Wrong document, Other) and reRequestMessage (the reviewer's free-text note to the borrower). These fields are returned only while the follow-up is currently REJECTED and only for rejections created after this version's release. No historical backfill is applied.
Close API Updates:
Added an optional enoteType field in closing responses, containing the eNote product identifier. Present only when an eNote vault transaction exists for the closing.
Added optional highestAllowedClosingType and enoteAllowed fields in closing responses, reflecting the lender's closing type ceiling and eNote eligibility. Each is present only when it has been set.
Added an optional highestAllowedClosingType field (RON, HYBRID, or TRADITIONAL) in closing requests, setting the most digital closing type the lender allows. On POST /close/closings, a provided ceiling also determines the closing's initial closing type.
Added an optional enoteAllowed field (boolean) in closing requests, indicating whether an eNote is permitted for the closing. A closing may not combine highestAllowedClosingType: TRADITIONAL with enoteAllowed: true.
Added an optional highestAllowedClosingTypeSource field in closing requests to indicate when highestAllowedClosingType was sourced from the lender's LOS. This field is request-scoped and is never stored or returned in responses.
Home Lending API Updates:
Added a new PATCH /income/verifications/parties/:id/gse-references endpoint to upsert lender-supplied Truv GSE reference IDs for a borrower, scoped to the direct Truv integration. Supports Fannie and Freddie GSE indicators. This endpoint is only accepted when the direct Truv integration is enabled for the loan's loan type.
Added TRUV to the vendorName enum on the GseReference response schema returned by GET /income/verifications.
Current Behavior: API v13 is currently in beta and available for testing.
New Behavior: On 11/10/2026, API v13 will be updated from beta to stable status and made available for production use. The full set of changes included in this release can be reviewed in the v13 changelog.
