Date Available: Beta 7/7, Prod 8/4
Which customers are impacted?: Lenders who duplicate existing applications.
Required?: Yes, this is a required release. Required releases are features that Blend wants to standardize in the codebase, and typically do not require additional configuration.
How to turn on: This feature will be automatically enabled on the dates listed above.
Purpose of Update and Benefit: When duplicating a loan, lenders currently select the loan type, originator, and other fields before searching for the source loan to copy. This ordering is counterintuitive, as the source loan is the starting point for all other decisions.
This update reorganizes the duplicate loan workflow so the source loan is selected first. It also allows lenders to optionally carry over the loan originator and team members from the copied loan, reducing manual re-entry.
Current Behavior: When duplicating a loan, the modal prompts the lender to select a loan type, configure the loan originator, and assign a group before searching for the source loan to copy. Values from the source loan are not identified and must be set manually.
New Behavior: The duplicate loan modal has been reorganized. The source loan search is now the first step.
After selecting the source loan, the application details section appears below with fields pre-populated from the copied loan.
The following fields are available after selecting a source loan:
Loan Type: pre-populated from the copied loan.
Loan Originator: defaults to the current user. If the current user is the same as the loan originator on the copied loan, the field is labeled as copied from the source.
Assign to Group: allows selecting a group for the new loan.
Additional Team Members: a new field that allows adding team members to the new loan, with values carried over from the copied loan.
