Date Available: Beta 7/7, Prod 8/4
Which customers are impacted?: Lenders who duplicate existing applications.
Required?: Yes, this is a required release. Required releases are features that Blend wants to standardize in the codebase, and typically do not require additional configuration.
How to turn on: This feature will be automatically enabled on the dates listed above.
Purpose of Update and Benefit: When a lender duplicates an application, there is currently no indication in the Activity tab that the new application was created from an existing one. This makes it difficult to trace an application's origin or understand when and why a duplication occurred.
This update adds a system-generated Activity entry on duplicated applications so lenders can clearly see where an application came from.
Current Behavior: When a lender duplicates an existing application, the newly created application shows no activity entry indicating it was duplicated or identifying the source application. There is no way to trace the application's origin from the Activity tab.
New Behavior: When an application is created via duplication, an entry is added to the Activity tab of the newly created application attributed to the lender user who performed the duplication. The entry displays "[Lender’s name] duplicated application from [source application ID]," where the source application ID references the original application.
The entry appears immediately after the application is created, is timestamped at the time of duplication, and is ordered chronologically with other activity events.
If an application is duplicated multiple times, each duplicated application references only its immediate source application.
Applications created through the standard new application flow are not affected and will not show a duplication activity entry.
