Purpose of Update and Benefit: Connecticut updated its county designations to planning regions in 2024. While planning regions are already surfaced in the application, the values previously passed to the pricing system did not align with expected formats, resulting in incomplete or inaccurate pricing results. Because these regions are treated as high-cost areas, this mismatch directly impacted pricing accuracy for Connecticut loans.
This update aligns the planning region values with the pricing system’s expected inputs, ensuring accurate pricing results for Connecticut high-cost area loans.
Current Behavior: When Connecticut planning regions are selected, the values displayed in the dropdown do not consistently match the values expected by the pricing system. As a result, pricing requests may return incomplete results, particularly when a full address is not provided, because certain planning regions are not correctly recognized as high-cost areas.
New Behavior: The Connecticut planning region dropdown values have been updated to align with the pricing system’s expected inputs:
Capitol Planning Region → Capitol
Greater Bridgeport Planning Region → Greater Bridgeport
Lower Connecticut River Valley Planning Region → Lower CT River VLY
Naugatuck Valley Planning Region → Naugatuck VLY
Northeastern Connecticut Planning Region → Northeastern CT
Northwest Hills Planning Region → NW Hills
South Central Connecticut Planning Region → South Central CT
Southeastern Connecticut Planning Region → Southeastern CT
Western Connecticut Planning Region → Western CT
With these updates, pricing searches now return accurate results for Connecticut high-cost area loans, both with and without a full address.
