Date Available: Beta 3/27, Prod 3/27
Required?: No, opt-in.
Which customers are impacted?: Lenders who use W-2 follow-ups via the follow-up API and have updated their integration to include employer information (such as employer name/ID) in those requests using the latest API version.
How to turn on: Available now on /follow-ups API endpoint v12.0.0
Purpose of Update and Benefit: This update improves clarity when collecting W-2s for borrowers with multiple employers. Previously, W-2 follow-ups created via API did not include employer details, making requests and uploaded documents appear generic. This often led to confusion and additional follow-up.
With this enhancement, systems such as an LOS can pass employer information into W-2 follow-ups, allowing requests and document names to clearly reflect the associated employer. This helps borrowers submit the correct documents the first time and reduces manual effort for lending teams.
Current Behavior: W-2 follow-ups created via the API do not include employer information, resulting in generic requests and document names with no indication of which employer they relate to.
New Behavior: W-2 follow-ups created via the API can now include employer information (such as employer name or ID). This information is used to display clearer, employer-specific requests and document names for borrowers.
