Which customers are impacted?: Lenders using the Home Equity application experience.

Required?: Yes, this is a required release. Required releases are features that Blend wants to standardize in the codebase, and typically do not require additional configuration.

How to turn on: This feature will be automatically enabled on the dates listed above.

Purpose of Update and Benefit: After clicking “Review and Submit” on a Home Equity application, the review step did not always provide clear confirmation when all required information had been completed, and the page could appear blank. This made it unclear whether the application was ready for submission.

This update introduces a clear confirmation state when an application is complete. Lenders now see explicit messaging indicating that all required information has been provided and that they can proceed with submission, improving clarity and streamlining the workflow when exporting to the LOS.

Current Behavior: After clicking “Review and Submit,” if all required information (including sufficient employment and residence history) is present, the review screen may appear mostly blank, showing only the page title (“Review and submit application”) and borrower name without any confirmation or guidance.

From this state, lenders must click “Submit application” again to export the application to the LOS, which has been perceived as unclear and potentially error-prone.

New Behavior: With this update, when all required information (including sufficient employment and residence history) has been provided and “Review and Submit” is selected, the review screen now clearly indicates that the application is complete. The page displays a confirmation message stating that all required information has been provided and prompts the lender to click “Submit application” to continue.

If required employment or residence history is still missing, the review step continues to display a “Missing information” state with a list of items to resolve, consistent with the previous experience.

The submission flow itself remains unchanged. From the updated review screen, clicking “Submit application” will export the Home Equity application to the LOS as before.
