Which customers are impacted?

Customers using the borrower SMS feature. All other customers will be unaffected.

How to turn on

This feature will automatically be turned on for all customers on the dates listed above.

Purpose of Update and Benefit

Blend is introducing copy changes to some aspects of our SMS product, primarily so that it is in closer alignment with voluntary CTIA guidelines. All of these changes are reflected in the SMS Product Guide. If you cannot access the product guide through the Google Drive link, please contact Blend Support or your Blend representative.

New Behavior

The following copy changes have been made to the SMS workflows:

Lender Application:

• Updated SMS Update Consent copy in the Manage Borrowers modal

• Updated SMS disclaimer text in the Invite Borrowers modal

• Updated copy for the opt-in text that is sent to borrowers after the loan team enters the borrower’s phone number in the Manage Borrowers modal
• Before:
• • Hi [borrowerFirstName]. Emblem would like to send automated SMS text message updates to your mobile number regarding your application, as well as any other applications you may have with Emblem that are associated with this number. Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out at any time. Reply Yes or START to opt in.
• After:
•  -  Hi [borrowerFirstName]. Emblem would like to send automated text message updates to your mobile number regarding your application, as well as any other mortgage applications you may have with Emblem that are associated with this number. Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP. Reply YES or START to opt in.

Borrower Application:

• Updated copy for borrower opt-in and disclaimer text on the borrower application page

• Updated copy for text messages after borrowers confirm opt-in
