LPA 5.4 Update

Update 3/14/2025: This LPA version update added support for additional Affordable Loan Program types that are supported by Freddie Mac, however these programs will not be available in customer environments by default. Customers who support any Affordable Loan Programs with Freddie Mac should reach out to Blend Support or their Blend representatives to ensure that these program types are enabled in their environments. The release note text has been updated with this additional detail.

Which customers are impacted?: 

All customers who run LPA in Blend are impacted. 

Required?:

• Yes, this is a required release. Required releases are features that Blend wants to standardize in the codebase, and typically do not require additional configuration. 

How to turn on: 

• This feature will be automatically enabled on the dates listed above.

Purpose of Update and Benefit:

This is a required update by Freddie Mac.

Current Behavior:

Blend LPA users are currently using version 5.3. 

New Behavior:

Here are the updates we made as part of 5.4:

• Update AboutVersionIdentifier to S5.4.00
• Update DataVersionIdentifier to 5.4.00
• FundsSourceTypeOtherDescription under Assets container now only has one accepted enumeration "NonOriginatingLender" if FundsSourceType = "Other"
• Added a new LPA extension lpa:GiftGrantDownPaymentAmount. Only included if Mortgage Type = "Conventional" AND Asset Type = "Grant" AND (Funds Source Type = "Lender" OR Funds Source Type Other Description = "NonOriginatingLender")
• Added additional enumerations to the Affordable Loan Program type dropdown when GSE = LPA (NOTE: Affordable Loan Program types are opt-in configurations, so these will not be in customer environments by default. Please reach out to Blend Support to configure any Affordable Loan Program types in your environment.)

• Added ClosingAdjustmentItemAmount and ClosingAdjustmentItemType to account for lender credits. Freddie added these new fields as part of 5.4 to match Fannie. These previously did not exist and lender credits had to be added as part of Purchase Credits.
