Date Available: Beta 11/10, Prod 12/8
Which customers are impacted?: Lenders using the Asset Statement Follow-Up task.
Required?: Yes, this is a required release. Required releases are features that Blend wants to standardize in the codebase, and typically do not require additional configuration.
How to turn on: This feature will be automatically enabled on the dates listed above.
Purpose of Update and Benefit: Borrowers can now more easily identify when linked account information may be out of date and take the appropriate action to refresh it.
Previously, the Asset Statement Follow-Up task displayed account balances from the original account connection without indicating when the information was last updated. This could lead borrowers to complete the task without refreshing their accounts.
This update provides clearer account statuses and guided actions to help borrowers refresh accounts, reconnect when needed, or upload statements when manual documentation is required. These improvements help reduce follow-up outreach, reopened tasks, and delays in obtaining updated asset information.
Current Behavior: On the Asset Statement Follow-Up task, each linked account displays the institution name and balance captured when the account was originally linked. The screen does not indicate how recently the account was refreshed or whether updated information is needed.
Borrowers may complete the task without refreshing their accounts because the displayed information can appear current. The existing “Yes, add another account” button also does not make it clear that connecting an account can be used to re-authenticate an existing account.
New Behavior: Each account on the Asset Statement Follow-Up screen now displays its refresh status and a corresponding action based on its current state:
Last refreshed {date}: Displays the date of the most recent successful refresh.
Snapshot may be out of date: Appears on accounts that have not been refreshed, with a Refresh action.
Reconnect to refresh: Appears when re-authentication is required, with a Reconnect action.
Upload statements to continue: Appears when manual statements are needed, with an Upload action.
After a successful refresh, the displayed balance updates to reflect the latest available account information.
Screen guidance now reminds borrowers that balances may be out of date until refreshed. The “Yes, add another account” button has also been renamed “Connect another account” to distinguish connecting a new account from refreshing an existing one.
Borrowers can still complete the task without refreshing their accounts.
