Blend Release Notes - 2022/09/09

For this release, we anticipate the following introductions in your environments. Each entry below is linked to their specific update containing more information. Major features are documented in the Blend Knowledge Base accessible at Blend Help Center. 

Announcements

Toll Free Message Verification for SMS

Effective immediately, all new toll-free phone numbers created by Blend for our SMS feature will need to undergo a one-time toll-free message verification process. This process requires submission of contact information and use case for each new number so that carriers can approve messaging via Toll-Free numbers to the US/Canada. If toll-free phone numbers do not go through this verification process, the numbers will be subjected to daily, weekly, and monthly caps for SMS messages. 

This verification process will take 2-3 weeks from submission to approval. Blend proactively submitted approval for existing SMS customers, and will initiate the process for each environment that we configure for SMS going forward. This verification process will be managed by Blend and requires minimal input from our customers. 
Customers do not need to take any action - this message is simply to advise of a change in process going forward. Maintenance Announcements

Connectivity Database Upgrade Maintenance Postponed

The Connectivity Database Upgrade for beta and production environments has been pushed out by a week. The new dates are as follows:

• Prod: Expecting 2 hours, 4 hours maximum, September 20, 12AM-4AM PDT, September 21 12AM - 4AM (backup option)

Connectivity services will be moving from using RDS to AWS Aurora. Postgres major version upgrade from 10.17 -> 13.7

Expected downtime: 2 hours Services: Connectivity

Impact:

Borrowers will not be able to connect assets and credit functionalities will not work. Any public api endpoints for credit and assets connectivity will experience timeouts.

Identity Database Upgrade

Description:
The Blend Identity service that had previously been scheduled for September 7 (beta) and September 9 (prod) and communicated on August 19th has been rescheduled as follows.

Blend will be upgrading its primary database from PostgreSQL 10.20 to 12.10.

• Beta: 2 hours maximum, September 21, 12AM-2AM PDT
• Prod: 2 hours maximum, September 23, 12AM-2AM PDT
