(New) Release Notes cadence change to bi-weekly
We wanted to inform you of an upcoming change to our Release Notes cadence. Starting Friday, April 5th, Blend will transition from weekly to bi-weekly Release Notes.
We've heard your feedback that weekly Release Notes can be overwhelming. By slowing down our release cycles and Release Notes, we aim to provide you with a more manageable update schedule. With this change, you'll only need to check for new releases twice a month instead of every Friday.
Despite this change, there will be no change to the beta to prod testing periods. This means you'll have the same amount of time to test and explore new features in your beta environments before they're released to production.
Should you have any questions or concerns regarding this change, please don't hesitate to reach out to our Support team.
(New) Update to Public API Header Requirements in Beta Environments
Blend’s beta public API gateway has been updated to require the special instance ID when API calls are made for lower beta environments. Previously, API calls allowed the special instance ID to be omitted from the blend-target-instance header. Requiring this ID in API calls will ensure consistent behavior across all endpoints going forward.
This change to the API was made on February 13, and will only affect integrations connecting to customer beta environments. Customers who experience errors when running APIs connected to beta environments should review their API calls to ensure that they are passing the special instance ID as part of the blend-target-instance header. Reach out to Blend Support or your Blend representative if you have any questions. Additional details on structuring API calls can be found in our developer guide:

(Update) Ability to Include Loan Reference Number to Subject and Body of Some Follow-Up Emails
The templates for some follow-up emails (introductions and reminders) have been updated to support the loanNumber variable in the subject and body copy. The variable has not been proactively added to any email templates, but can be added now to any template in this list:
Lenders who wish to add the variable to any of the above email templates should reach out to Blend Support or their Blend representative and provide the following:
(Update) Deprecating Paystub and Tax Return Retrieval Workflows in Blend
Update 3/15: The service that allowed the paystub retrieval workflow in Blend also powers the tax return retrieval workflow. Therefore, both the tax return and paystub retrieval workflows will be removed from Blend per the dates outlined below. The Release Note has been updated with this new information.
These features allow borrowers to connect - via username and password - to their payroll provider and TurboTax to share paystubs and tax returns with a lender after submitting the application. The provider we partnered with to support these features is deprecating the service that powers this workflow. These features will be removed from customer beta environments on March 12, 2024, and then removed from customer production environments on April 9, 2024. Lenders can continue to use manual or automated follow ups to request that borrowers manually upload their paystubs and tax returns. Please reach out to Blend Support or your Blend representative if you have any questions.
