Feature Spotlight: SMS Notifications and USPS Address Verification
Blend is highlighting two powerful features that can significantly improve operational efficiency and the borrower experience. If you haven't already enabled SMS notifications and USPS Address Verification, we encourage you to reach out to your Blend representative and learn more about how these features can improve your application intake processes.
SMS Notifications
Streamline communication and enhance customer engagement with SMS notifications. This feature enables you to keep borrowers informed and engaged on the progress of their loan application. With high open rates and quick response times, SMS notifications can help reduce loan lifecycle times and improve overall satisfaction. This feature can be configured upon request for mortgage applications. Please note that the SMS Notifications feature is not currently available for other application types at this time. USPS Address Verification
Ensure address accuracy and reduce errors with USPS Address Verification. This feature automatically validates borrower- and lender-entered addresses against the official USPS database, ensuring data integrity and minimizing potential issues caused by incorrect or incomplete address information. By automatically verifying addresses, you can save time, reduce manual effort, and improve the accuracy of information added to incoming loan applications. This feature is configured by default for Rapid Home Equity and Deposit Account templates built with Blend Builder, and can be configured upon request for mortgage applications. Please note that USPS Address Verification is not currently available for other application types at this time. Maintenance Announcements (2)
(New) Income Verification Provider Maintenance
Blend’s Income Verification partner, Truework, will be performing a required PostgreSQL minor version upgrade in March 2025. During this time, there may be temporary service interruptions for income verifications for production environments. Verification requests made while the maintenance is ongoing may fail, and failed requests will not be retried.
What are affected periods for prod environments?
Sunday, March 16, 2025 from 4:00 AM to 5:00 AM PT (7:00 AM to 8:00 AM ET). The maintenance should last only a few minutes within this window.
Kubernetes Minor Version Upgrade
We will be upgrading our beta and prod kubernetes clusters (EKS) from version 1.27 to 1.28. This is to keep up to date with the latest versions of EKS. The maintenance is expected to take the full two hours of the listed affected periods below.
Will there be downtime associated with this maintenance?
Yes, the downtime will impact features and services in the borrower application and lender application. Overall, the downtime will be less than 5 minutes. We expect an observable error rate increase, and processing delay increase to be between minimal and negligible during the maintenance. Some requests may fail to the application during this time.
Will there be a maintenance page during this time?
No.
