Date Available: Available with Blend’s public API v7, opt-in
Which customers are impacted?: Customers who have signed up for an income service and who would like to use an API endpoint to reverify borrower income and/or employment for mortgage and home equity applications.
How to turn on: Customers who are interested in this functionality will need to have an active contract for Blend Income or The Work Number (TWN), and will need to engage their development teams or a third-party contractor to design their workflow and build to the API endpoint.
Purpose of Update and Benefit:
In previous versions of Blend’s public API, Blend included an endpoint that would allow lenders to reverify employment through TWN. However, that endpoint did not allow for the same mechanism for Blend Income. With version 7 of the public API, Blend Income and TWN customers will now be able to use our public API to initiate a reverification of income and/or employment. This will allow loan teams to be able to reverify Blend Income from outside of the Blend platform - for example, from the customer’s LOS.
Customers interested in using this endpoint to reverify income and/or employment must have an active contract for Blend Income or TWN. Contact your Blend representative if you would like to sign up and configure either of these VOI services.
Current Behavior:
Today, Blend Income customers need to log in to Blend and re-verify income and/or employment through the lender application.
New Behavior:
Version 7.0 of Blend’s public API will include an endpoint that will allow lenders to reverify Blend Income in addition to TWN when the endpoint is called. Lender customers will need to engage their own development teams to access this new API behavior. The API will support reverification of income and employment and employment only.
Applications must have a successful initial VOI hit in order for lenders to be able to successfully use this reverification endpoint. Additionally, only income/employment information that has been verified through either Blend Income’s Instant Lookup service or Blend’s TWN integration will be eligible for reverification through this endpoint. When the reverification is successful, the resulting VOI or VOE doc will appear in the lender application and borrower home page.
