Purpose of Update and Benefit:
Blend understands that lenders would like to have more configurability around consents surfaced to borrowers during the application process. In addition to the layout enhancement also announced in this week’s release notes for Terms of Use and Privacy Policies, we’re adding new configurability to consents and are introducing a number of ways that lenders can now customize consent. At a high level lenders can now:
Customize the display name for the Lender Terms displayed in the footer.
Additional links can be added behind the Lender Terms modal and defined by loan type.
Add a new consent link with a customized display name in the footer.
Customize the display name for a lender's Privacy Policy.
These new configurations are independent of each other and do not require lenders to opt into all available configurations.
New Behavior
Lenders can now customize the display name for their own consent modal that is displayed to borrowers within the footer of application screens.
The new lender specific consent modal now contains any configured Terms of Use, Privacy Policy and eConsent for the lender.

An additional link can now be added to the footer. This new functionality does not introduce a new modal but rather is just a hyperlink to an external website that when clicked would open a new tab in the borrower's browser.

Once a borrower begins an application, additional links by loan type can be added to the footer terms modal. For example, a lender could add a mortgage specific terms link that will appear once a borrower begins a mortgage application while having a different link surface for borrowers proceeding through a home equity application.

The Privacy Policy that is surfaced to borrowers during the Getting Started stage of the application process can now be configured at a loan type level. This means that a lender can surface a mortgage specific Privacy Policy for borrowers during the mortgage application and a home equity Privacy Policy for borrowers proceeding through a home equity application. As the Privacy Policy is configured at a global level (the Privacy Policy displayed within the footer), any loan type Privacy Policies will supersede the global Privacy Policy. If for a loan type that is offered but a specific Privacy Policy is not configured, the global Privacy Policy will surface to the borrower.
