Scheduling closing appointments can be a time-consuming process that can require a lot of coordination. By enabling the borrower to share their preferences for their closing appointment with their settlement provider via Blend and have their appointment confirmed, the manual back-and-forth process over email or phone can be reduced while keeping all involved parties in the loop.

Immediately after a closing has been issued via Blend, a task to “Share Closing Preferences” is sent to the borrower in their Loan Hub.
Borrower will complete the workflow and choose from the following options:

Traditional paper-based fallback and Hybrid Closing - Borrower experience
Borrower will receive an email and they will sign-in their Loan Hub account to review the task and complete the following steps:
1. Click Complete items or click the Tasks Tab on the home screen.
2. Click Share Closing Preferences.
3. Click Start this section.
4. Choose from the following options:
a. Mobile notarization: Option of asking a notary to meet the borrower at their preferred location (If selected, address is entered in the next step).
b. In-office notarization: Option to meet the notary at their office.
Mobile Notarization
a. Select I want a notary to meet me at my preferred location.
b. Click Continue.
c. Enter preferred location address. This is where the notary will meet the borrower for the closing appointment.
Tip: Blend uses geo location for the address fields.
d. Click Continue.
In office Notarization
a. Select I want to meet a notary at their office.
b. Click Continue.
c. Enter preferred location address. This is the address where the borrower is located. Settlement agent will find a notary whose office is close to the address shared by the borrower, the notary will meet the borrower at this location for the closing appointment.
Tip: Blend uses geo location for the address fields.
d. Click Continue.

5. Select Time Zone from the dropdown list.
6. Select three Appointment slots. The borrowers get to choose three one-hour slots starting from 9 AM till 7 PM.
7. Click Continue.
Notes:
- System will prompt to enter information, if any mandatory fields are left blank.
- If None of these times work for me is selected, the borrower is prompted to contact their loan team to find another closing date. They are also informed that this may result in re-generation of their closing documents and may delay their closing.
- This example shows a Mobile notarization but the workflow is identical for In-office notarization.
8. Click Finish.
Notes:
- The borrower is informed that they will receive a confirmation email of their appointment.
- Once the settlement agent has confirmed the closing appointment, the loan officer also receives an email.
RON Closing
Borrower will receive an email and they will sign-in their Loan Hub account to review the task and complete the following steps:
1. Click Complete items or click the Tasks Tab on the home screen.
2. Click Share Closing Preferences.
3. Click Start this section.
4. Select Time Zone from the dropdown list.
5. Select three Appointment slots. The borrowers get to choose three one-hour slots starting from 9 AM till 7 PM.
6. Click Continue.
