Adding Follow-Up Requests
Follow-ups now live in their own tab, in addition to Overview, Application, Activity, and Docs. To request a follow-up, click into the tab, and click "Add."
If your lender has created templated lists for you to choose from, you can choose one of those.
If you choose to create a new list, you'll find the most frequently requested follow-ups in the "Commonly Used" section. You'll find all other available requests below that section. You can also search for the follow-up you're looking for.
Unlike the old follow-ups experience, there is no "Other" option. If you don't see the follow-up you need, you can name and add your own. These self-named documents will get added for this loan, but won’t be permanently added to the main dropdown list.
If there is more than one borrower, select the borrowers you would like the request to go to.
Choose what you'd like to request of the borrower, and, if you'd like, add additional text to explain your request.
If you need to request a signature from your borrower(s), you can select "Signature" and "Set up e-signature" to set up Docusign coordinates. You can find more instructions on setting up e-signature through Docusign by following steps 3 and 4 here.
Click "Continue to Review" to see the follow-up requests you've assembled. If the list meets your satisfaction, click "Send request." If you'd like, add additional text to the email they will receive.
That button will turn to "Follow-Ups Sent!" and you will be shown the status of your requests.
Managing Follow-Up Requests
If the borrower's generated asset statement indicates that there was a large deposit requiring a letter of explanation (LOE), you'll see that LOE under Suggested Follow-ups.
Upon clicking "Review Suggestion," you can look at which accounts triggered the suggested LOE. You can choose which large deposits you'd like to request an LOE for.
Click Review request to proceed with sending the LOE request(s).
If your lender automatically requests certain follow-ups as part of their standard application template, you'll see those separated from the ones you manually add yourself. The post-submit processes (these are a part of your Blend application template) will still exist and can also be viewed and deleted under Automatically Requested.
If you receive your follow-up request outside of Blend (e.g. via email or in person), you can mark the follow-up as complete by clicking the check mark next to the request under Actions. The status will change to "Completed Externally," and your borrower will no longer receive email reminders telling them to fulfill the request.
If you no longer need the requested follow-up from your borrower(s), you can remove the request. You'll no longer see the request in your list, and your borrower will no longer receive email reminders telling them to fulfill the request. Completed follow-ups, however, cannot be deleted. Once a borrower completes a follow-up, or an LO marks one as completed externally, the "X" sign will be greyed out and you will not be able to remove the item.
