Learn how to correct a document during a signing session without having to void it. This article describes the two scenarios for correcting a document during a signing session and common troubleshooting tips.

Editing a document before completion
If the Notary or borrower notices an error on a document before any party selects Finish, the document can be corrected immediately, while in session, without voiding the documents.
- Turn off Document Signing.
- Click the More button ⋯ next to the impacted document.
- Select Edit document tags.
- Click Correct in the upper right corner. This will allow you to correct the signature tags when the DocuSign window opens. The document will update in the documents list on the left side of the screen.
- Turn on Document Signing and proceed with the rest of the document signing.
Correcting a document after completion
If the Notary or borrower notices an error on a document after any party selects Finish or upon the Notary receiving the document for final review, the tags cannot be edited and the document must be voided, re-uploaded, and re-tagged.
Note: The Notary must always have an uninterrupted visual and audio connection with the Borrower during editing. The window with videos should always be visible to the Notary.
- Turn off Document Signing.
- Click the More button ⋯ next to the impacted document.
- Select Void document.
- Open a new browser window (not a tab) outside of the signing session.
- Go to Manage documents.
- Click + Add another file.
- Choose the document from your computer.
- Click I'm done when finished.
Unsigned documents should be downloaded before the signing appointment. Otherwise, an unsigned copy can be downloaded from Opsdesk Workspace.
The new document will appear labeled Pending tags. - Re-tag the document, then save and close.
Note: All corrected documents are placed at the bottom of the list. The next document presented to the Borrower will not necessarily be the document that was just corrected. - Turn on Document Signing and proceed with the rest of the document signing.
If you run into issues while editing documents in the Blend Signing Room
If "Edit document tags" is not working or the signing is stuck, please try the following:
- Turn off Document Signing.
- Return to Manage Documents.
- Find the document that needs to be corrected or is stuck and click Tag to open DocuSign.
a) If the signing process is stuck, click Save and Close.
b) If tag corrections are needed, make corrections and adjustments and then click Save and Close.
The refreshed document will appear in the signing room at the end of the list.
