Learn how lenders can add Power of Attorney language to a borrower signature line using Encompass.
Below are the steps for lenders using Encompass to add Power of Attorney language to a borrower signature line. To start, make sure the loan is in Draft status.
Note: If you have already sent the closing, and then you change the Vesting (POA), and then redraw, the POA language will not save to the loan. It must be in Draft status first.
1. Navigate to the Forms tab and select Borrower Information - Vesting
2. Select the borrower who will have the POA language on their signature
3. Add POA Borrower - enter the name of the person who is signing as the POA
Note: No need to enter the word “by”. It will automatically populate on the docs.
4. Add POA Signature text (e.g., “as Agent”, “as Attorney-in-fact”)
5. Add Vesting
Note: Very important - the POA signer will not be able to eSign the documents without this field.
